Schützenfest with Folk Festival Character

The Schützenfest of SV Ahrensfluchtermoor-Hemmoor e.V. is an important club and folk festival in the southeastern district of Cuxhaven. The organizer is the marksmen's association of the same name. The venue is the festival grounds at Cuxhavener Straße 35, 21745 Hemmoor (Althemmoor).

3rd Weekend of July — Presumably July 17–19, 2026

Traditionally, the festival takes place on the 3rd weekend of July. For 2026, the date is therefore expected to be July 17 to 19, 2026. The exact date will be officially confirmed by the association in the spring — before traveling, it is advisable to check the association's website or the Cuxland event calendar.

Festival Ball in the Tent and Folk Festival Character

The festival is more than just a club meeting: with a festival ball in the tent, club members in uniform, a parade, carousels, and food stalls, it has real folk festival character. The entire community participates, and guests from the surrounding area are also welcome.

Classic Schützenfest Program

As is customary at Cuxland Schützenfeste, the program is characterized by the following elements:

• Waking up on festival Sunday
• Assembly of the marksmen in uniform
• Festival parade with a brass band
• King's shooting competition and proclamation of the new marksmen's king
• Festival ball in the tent as the social highlight
• Children's festival and morning pint on the last day

Hemmoor — Water Town with Industrial History

Hemmoor is a town in southeastern Cuxland, known for the former Kreidesee Hemmoor (now an internationally recognized diving site) and its industrial history. The district of Althemmoor, with its traditional festival grounds, is the center of club life.
