School Concert – Musical Exchange Delmenhorst–Lublin

Twin City Partnership since 1992

Delmenhorst and Lublin have maintained an official twin city partnership since 1992. Over the past three decades, numerous student exchanges, cultural collaborations, and political encounters have developed. The musical bridge is one of the most vibrant expressions of this partnership.

Max-Planck-Gymnasium and Karol-Lipinski-Gymnasium

The Max-Planck-Gymnasium Delmenhorst and the Karol-Lipinski-Gymnasium Lublin have maintained a regular student exchange for years. The musical ensembles of both schools perform alternately in the partner city, using the encounters to rehearse joint programs and learn from each other.

Program in Pop, Jazz, and Film Music

The program on September 25 includes pieces from pop, jazz, and film music – genres that work across languages and enable young people from both countries to have a shared musical identity. Well-known pop hits in school orchestra arrangements, jazzy standards, and themes from famous films will bring the Markthalle to life.

German-Polish Youth Office

The German-Polish Youth Office (DPJW) supports the concert financially and ideologically. The DPJW has been promoting youth exchange between Germany and Poland for decades and is an important partner in supporting the Delmenhorst-Lublin concert.

Markthalle Delmenhorst as Concert Venue

The Markthalle offers an intimate, acoustically pleasing atmosphere for a concert of this scale. Parents, teachers, fellow students, representatives of the city of Delmenhorst, and partners from Lublin are expected.

Admission is free – a clear commitment to the idea that cultural encounters should be open to everyone. Anyone who wants to listen to the students from Delmenhorst and Lublin making music together is warmly welcome.
