About Tin Figure Exchange Kulmbach
Tin Figure Exchange Kulmbach — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Kulmbach Tin Figure Exchange once again brings together collectors and manufacturers from Germany, Europe, and overseas in the Upper Franconian beer city. The central venues are the Börsenstadl at EKU-Platz and the immediately adjacent Dr.-Stammberger-Halle — both in the city center, within walking distance of the downtown area and the train station.
Flat, half, and full figures of all sizes are sold, traded, and displayed — from individual painted figures to complete dioramas depicting entire battles, city scenes, or fantasy worlds in miniature. Accompanying events include painting courses, lectures, and meetings for diorama builders. Those new to the hobby can learn techniques, tools, and materials from professionals.
The organizer is the German Tin Figure Museum on the Plassenburg in cooperation with the Tourism and Event Service of the City of Kulmbach. Admission to the exchange is free.

Europe's Largest Tin Figure Exchange
The German and International Tin Figure Exchange Kulmbach is the world's most important sales and trading event for collectors and manufacturers of tin figures. Every two years, around 130 exhibitors from Germany, Europe, and overseas meet in the Upper Franconian beer city to showcase and offer figures, engravings, paintings, and entire dioramas. The central venues are the Börsenstadl at EKU-Platz and the nearby Dr.-Stammberger-Halle.
A Tradition of Over 50 Years
The organizer is the German Tin Figure Museum on the Plassenburg, with over 350,000 figures, it is the largest collection in the world. The exchange has been held in Kulmbach since the 1960s — alongside the museum, it has established itself as the second indispensable pillar of this Franconian craft tradition. The *Almanach des Deutschen Zinnfigurenmuseums* (Almanac of the German Tin Figure Museum), a highly regarded yearbook for collectors, is published to accompany the exchange.
What There Is to See
In the Börsenstadl, publishers, engravers, and painters from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, France, Italy, Scandinavia, and the USA present their work. Collectors can find flat, half, and full figures of all sizes, from historical battle scenes and medieval themes to modern fantasy subjects. Impressive dioramas by individual artists illustrate the breadth of craftsmanship. Lectures, painting courses, and a meeting of diorama builders round off the offerings.
Kulmbach — the Beer City at the Foot of the Plassenburg
Kulmbach, the district town in the Upper Franconian district of the same name (State of Bavaria), with about 25,000 inhabitants, sits enthroned at the foot of the mighty Plassenburg — a Renaissance fortress that has housed the Tin Figure Museum since 1929. The city is also known for its brewing tradition (EKU, Mönchshof, Kulmbacher) — a perfect setting for a weekend of crafts and Franconian lifestyle.
Free Admission
Admission to the exchange is free. The organizers are the German Tin Figure Museum and the Tourism and Event Service of the City of Kulmbach. Anyone visiting Kulmbach should definitely combine it with a trip up to the Plassenburg — the Tin Figure Museum there is a world-class destination in itself.
