Open-Air in a Baroque Castle Setting

If you want to experience concerts in one of the most beautiful historical open-air locations in North Rhine-Westphalia, head to The Park in the Schlosspark Schloss Morsbroich at the end of August/beginning of September. The baroque moated castle from the 18th century with its extensive park offers an atmosphere that no other open-air event in the Rhineland between Cologne and Düsseldorf can match: high-quality concerts, intimate setting (a few thousand seats), historic castle backdrop.

Scala Club as Organizer

The organizer is the Scala Club in Leverkusen-Opladen, Uhlandstraße 9 — the city's most important live music venue with approx. 600 seats. For years, Scala has curated international acts (blues, rock, singer-songwriter, comedy) with an ambitious program and has established its open-air format with „The Park“. Operational event management: Mecky Events GmbH.

Kasalla — Opening with Kölsch Dialect Rock

The Park 2026 opens on Friday, August 28 at 8 PM (doors open 5:30 PM) with Kasalla, one of the most successful contemporary kölsch bands. Founded in 2011 by guitarist Flo Peil and singer Bastian Campmann, Kasalla combines pop and dialect in a way that works both during Cologne Carnival and outside the season. With the album „Mer sin eins“ (2017, #5 German charts, ECHO nomination 2018), Kasalla established itself as one of the top acts in the kölsch music scene. Tickets: 44 Euros (advance) / 48 Euros (box office).

Candy Dulfer — Funkalicious Tour

On Saturday, August 29 at 7 PM (doors open 5:30 PM), the highlight for jazz and funk fans follows: Candy Dulfer, the Dutch saxophone legend, presents her „Funkalicious Tour“. Dulfer, Grammy-nominated for her debut, with over 2.5 million solo albums sold worldwide, and live experience with Prince, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Tower of Power, is one of the most celebrated funk saxophonists of her generation. Her 2023 single „Convergency“ with Nile Rodgers (Chic) reached number 1 on Billboard in the USA. Tickets: 59 Euros (advance) / 65 Euros (box office).

Thomas D — the Fanta-4 Frontman

On Wednesday, September 2, Thomas D & The KBCs will perform an acoustic program. Thomas Dürr, one of the four frontmen of Die Fantastischen Vier (one of the most important German hip-hop bands of all time), has also been active solo since the late 1990s with more thoughtful, personal songs. The program with the accompanying band „The KBCs“ is a mix of solo hits and Fanta-4 classics in acoustic arrangements.

Nightwash and Frau Höpker — Comedy to Conclude

On Friday, September 4 at 8 PM, Nightwash brings stand-up comedy to the Schlosspark. Nightwash is the comedy format of the WDR radio station 1Live, which presents several stand-up comedians in this tour version. The finale on Saturday, September 5 at 6:30 PM is „Frau Höpker bittet zum Gesang“ — a karaoke show with actress Annette Frier in the role of „Frau Höpker“, who encourages the audience to sing along.

Schloss Morsbroich — The Historic Backdrop

Schloss Morsbroich in Leverkusen-Schlebusch is a baroque moated castle from the 18th century with a castle park. Today, the castle houses the Museum Morsbroich — one of the oldest municipal museums for modern and contemporary art in Germany (see Morsbroich Art Days May 2026). The extensive park with old trees is used for open-air concerts in the summer. The combination of castle, park, concerts, and museum makes Morsbroich one of Leverkusen's most versatile cultural locations.
