Thai Food Festival Kusel

The Thai Food Festival Kusel will take place in its second edition in 2026 – following the successful premiere in 2025, which established the event in the district town of West Palatinate. The venue is the Marktwiese parking lot in Kusel, which will be transformed into a vibrant marketplace with a Thai atmosphere for the weekend of May 30 and 31, 2026.

Thai Cuisine in West Palatinate

With over 15 food stalls, the festival offers a wide range of authentic Thai cuisine: Pad Thai (fried rice noodles), Tom Yam and Tom Kha (spicy soups), Massaman Curry and Green Thai Curry, Som Tam (papaya salad), Satay skewers with peanut sauce, grilled fish in banana leaves, Mango Sticky Rice as a sweet classic, and much more. Most stalls are run by chefs of Thai origin, guaranteeing the authenticity of the dishes.

More Than Just Food

In addition to the food stalls, exhibitors offer imported fruits and vegetables from Thailand – exotic fruits such as dragon fruit, rambutan, or mangosteen, which are rarely found elsewhere in West Palatinate. There are also handicrafts such as silk, jewelry, wood carvings, and bamboo items. The festival is therefore a showcase for Thailand, not only culinarily but also culturally.

Muay Thai and Traditional Dances

The stage features a mix of Thai boxing demonstrations (Muay Thai), traditional dance performances, and live music. On Sunday from 1 PM, special highlights are on the program: a Muay Thai show with professional fighters demonstrating the technique and elegance of this centuries-old martial art, and traditional dance performances in colorful costumes.

Opening Hours and Admission

Opening hours: Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11 AM to 10 PM; Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 11 AM to 8 PM. Admission is free – you only pay for what you buy at the stalls. This makes the festival an accessible event that reaches all generations and interested parties.

Kusel as a Festival Town

Kusel is the district town of the district of the same name in West Palatinate and is manageable with around 5,500 inhabitants. With the Thai Food Festival, the Easter fair on the exhibition grounds, and other events, Kusel is positioning itself as a festival destination that attracts visitors from beyond the district borders.
