Northern Germany's largest trade exhibition for agriculture, animal husbandry, and rural life — 750 exhibitors on 18 hectares
Founded after World War II, the Tarmstedt Exhibition has developed over more than seven decades into the largest trade exhibition of its kind in northern Germany. It brings together farmers, contractors, animal breeders, barn planners, craftsmen, consultants, and investors from all over northern Germany and beyond. With around 100,000 visitors over four days, it is one of the major events in the German agricultural industry.
On an 18-hectare exhibition site, around 750 exhibitors present themselves in seven halls and on spacious outdoor areas. The thematic range extends from tractors and harvesting machines to barn construction, animal feed, and fertilization, as well as renewable energies, horticulture, forestry technology, and agricultural machinery spare parts. Rural lifestyles — fashion, jewelry, cosmetics, household goods — also find their place in the exhibition's market.
The Tarmstedt Exhibition is one of the largest stages for animal husbandry in northwestern Germany. Shows for dairy and beef cattle, horses, sheep (see 'Schafe-sind-toll' initiative), pigs, poultry, and dogs provide a lively program over the four days of the event. Breeders from all over northern Germany present their best animals and compete for awards.
An increasingly important thematic focus of the fair is renewable energies, digitalization, and innovations in agriculture. Photovoltaics, biogas, wind power, autonomous machines, and precision farming are presented in dedicated areas. The Tarmstedt Exhibition thus positions itself as an industry meeting point that brings together tradition and the future of agriculture.
Beyond the trade exhibition, the Tarmstedt Exhibition is also a social meeting point. A large market with over 200 stalls, several beer tents, food stalls, cafés, and an amusement park make the visit a family experience. The market is open daily until 10:00 PM, ensuring a festive atmosphere long after the official closing of the fair.
The extensive program of trade exhibition, animal husbandry shows, demonstrations, and accompanying events spans four days. Around 100,000 visitors are expected.
The Tarmstedt Exhibition is a must-attend event for farmers, animal breeders, consultants, and investors from Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg, and Schleswig-Holstein.
