Two-Day Open Air on the Dutch Border
Gronau (Westphalia) is located in the far west of North Rhine-Westphalia, on the Dutch border, and is regionally known primarily for its annual jazz festival, the "International Jazz Festival Gronau." SummerFeelings — The Gronau Open Air is a different format: two days of pop and Schlager (German folk-pop) culture on August 14th and 15th, 2026, on the large grounds of the Bürgerhalle. The organizer is Mewes Entertainment, familiar with the Schlager and pop tour format in the region.
Friday — "Night of Pop"
The kickoff on Friday, August 14th, 2026, runs under the slogan "Night of Pop." Headliner: Mark Forster, one of the most successful German pop artists of recent years — known for singles like "Au revoir," "Sowieso," and "Übermorgen." Support comes from ClockClock, a German producer duo with indie-pop roots, and Philipp Dittberner, whose "Wolke 4" was one of the streaming hits of the late 2010s.
Saturday — "Schlager-Kult"
Saturday, August 15th, 2026, is all about Schlager culture. Howard Carpendale — a Schlager icon who has been performing on German stages since the 1960s — is the undisputed headliner. Maite Kelly brings her Kelly Family heritage into a solo Schlager career. Nik P. rounds out the trio as an Austrian folk-pop artist ("Ein Stern"). All three perform with a band — no lip-syncing, but full live concerts.
Bürgerhalle Large Grounds
The venue is the large grounds of the Bürgerhalle Gronau at Spinnereistraße 20. The area offers enough space for the expected over 10,000 visitors per day, with a stage, front-stage area, seating configurations, and an open-air atmosphere. Ample parking, several food and drink stands, modern sanitary facilities, and an info point.
Chip Payment and Family Ticket
Payment on-site is via chip — cash and card are accepted at the top-up stations. Tickets are available in several categories: single-day pass, front-stage pass, child ticket, and VIP package. Tickets start at EUR 59.90 via Eventim and myticket. Designed to be family-friendly — however, children under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian.
Gronau in the Westmünsterland
Gronau (Westphalia), not to be confused with Gronau in Lower Saxony, has around 47,000 inhabitants and is located in the Borken district in western Münsterland. The town borders the Dutch municipality of Enschede — day tickets often come from both sides of the border. With this festival, Gronau is once again positioning itself as a event location beyond the region.
