Fallersleben and its Marksmen's Tradition
The district of Fallersleben looks back on a long tradition of marksmen's clubs (Schützenwesen). The local marksmen's society (Schützengesellschaft) cultivates this custom with great commitment and organizes the annual Volks- und Schützenfest as the central highlight of their club year. The festival brings together the entire district population as well as numerous guests from the surrounding Wolfsburg districts and the Gifhorn region.
Schützenplatz at Schützenweg
The festival grounds at Schützenweg, dedicated to the marksmen's tradition, offer ideal conditions for a multi-day Volksfest: a festival tent with a dance floor, shooting ranges, a carousel and amusement ride area, catering stands, and seating. Its central location in the district makes it easily accessible and creates a meeting point for marksmen, families, and festival-goers.
Program for Four Festival Days
The sequence of events follows a classic structure that caters to different target groups: Thursday is the opening evening with the first festival tent program, Friday is Children's Day with walk-acts and an initial fireworks display, Saturday features a Seniors' afternoon with coffee and cake, followed by an evening dance in the festival tent, and Sunday culminates with the festival service and the grand parade through Fallersleben. Shooting competitions accompany the festival and determine the new marksmen monarchs for the season.
