Arnsberg-Hüsten — Sauerland Festival Location

Arnsberg is a medium-sized town in the Hochsauerlandkreis (North Rhine-Westphalia) with around 73,000 inhabitants — the district capital of the Hochsauerlandkreis. The Hüsten district is located in the north of Arnsberg and has a large Kirmesplatz (fairground) used for regional folk festivals and open-air festivals. This infrastructure — an established festival site with electricity, water, and stage facilities — makes Hüsten one of the preferred locations for open-air concerts in the Sauerland region.

The Summer Shake Festival has a clear program philosophy: 100% Mixed Music. Instead of committing to a single genre (which leads to pure Schlager or pure EDM at competing festivals), the festival brings together artists from multiple styles:

Lineup 2026 — Mainstream Stars and Newcomers

Pietro Lombardi — DSDS winner 2011, since then one of Germany's most famous Pop/Schlager artists. Regular act at many summer open-airs. Isi Glück — Royalty of the Ballermann scene, Schlager with a Mallorca connection, one of the most far-reaching artists in the German Schlager market. Julian Sommer — Schlager newcomer with the big hit "Dann hau ab" (2022), present in every second Schlager show since then. Esther Graf — Singer-songwriter with a pop accent. Luca-Dante Spadafora — Pop/EDM artist. Druckluft — the brass-pop band, also performing here (also at JECKOMIO Grefrath in September).

Ticket — Moderate Price

With a ticket price of approx. €39, the Summer Shake Festival is in the moderate range of German open-air festivals — far below major concert festivals like Rock am Ring (~€200 for several days), but above local village festivals (€5-15). It is aimed at a willing-to-pay mainstream audience looking for a full day of festival experience at an affordable price. Prices are tiered by sales phases — early booking is cheaper than the last phase or the box office.

Sauerland Atmosphere

The festival takes place in the Hochsauerlandkreis — one of the most wooded regions in North Rhine-Westphalia. High summer atmosphere in the Sauerland, with the Kirmesplatz Arnsberg-Hüsten as the open-air stage and the forest landscape as a backdrop. Good weather and mild summer climate are not guaranteed, but typical for the peak season at the end of July.

Location and Travel

Arnsberg-Hüsten is located in the Hochsauerlandkreis, easily accessible via the A 46 (Sauerlandlinie). By car: A 46 exit Arnsberg-Hüsten directly to the Kirmesplatz. By train: Arnsberg-Hüsten station or Arnsberg main station on the Obere Ruhrtalbahn (RB 59 from Hagen to Brilon-Wald), then bus to the festival site. Parking available at the festival site or in surrounding park-and-ride areas.
