About Summer in the City

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the 16th edition of Summer in the City will transform Bergheim's city centre into an open-air stage landscape. Several stages in the pedestrian zone, live acts from rock, pop, and Kölsch music (“Kölschetön”), and a continuous programme throughout the city centre — Bergheim celebrates its summer classic, which has been one of the most important city festivals in the Rhein-Erft district since 2010. Getting There

Bergheim is located between Cologne and Aachen, easily accessible via the A 61 (Bergheim exit) and A 4 motorways. By train to Bergheim (Erft) station, then a short walk to the city centre. Public transport is recommended — parking spaces in the city centre car parks are heavily used during the festival.

Since 2010, Summer in the City has been the defining summer festival in Bergheim's city centre. The organiser is the City of Bergheim, the district town of Rhein-Erft. The 16th edition will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The format is consistent: several stages spread across Bergheim's city centre and pedestrian zone, free admission everywhere, and a programme running from afternoon until late evening.
