Street food with a lake view
The StreetFood Festival at SchiederSee is a two-day culinary event at the reservoir of the same name in Schieder-Schwalenberg. On July 11 and 12, 2026, the beach promenade will be transformed into a food truck mile with international cuisine, cocktails, and live music. The combination of natural scenery and the street food concept makes the weekend one of the more special dates on the Lippe event calendar.
SchiederSee — An excursion destination with character
The SchiederSee is an approximately 1.5 km long reservoir on the Emmer river in the Lippe district. For decades, it has been a local recreation area for the region between Detmold, Höxter, and Paderborn. The lido, boat rental, restaurants, and hiking trails around the water attract visitors all year round. During the summer season, events like the StreetFood Festival are also held.
Food trucks and exhibitors
The format follows the typical street food festival logic:
- International Food Trucks: BBQ, Burgers, Asian, Pizza, Tex-Mex, Vegan, Desserts
- Cocktail and Bar Stalls: Summer drinks, mocktails, wine
- Sweet Specialties: Crêpes, ice cream, waffles
- Regional Vendors: Lippe specialty mix
- Family Offers: Child-friendly dishes and snacks
Lake atmosphere and accompanying program
The strength of the event is its location directly on the lake:
- Picnic meadows and seating areas with a lake view
- Sunset atmosphere on Saturday evening
- Opportunity to combine the food truck experience with a walk around the lake
- Live music stations or DJ sets (program details from the organizer shortly before the event)
Schieder-Schwalenberg — Lippe cultural landscape
The town of Schieder-Schwalenberg is located in the east of the Lippe district (state of North Rhine-Westphalia), on the border with the Weser Uplands. With around 7,500 inhabitants, it is a small town, but it has several tourist attractions, including SchiederSee lake, the baroque Schieder Castle, and the historic old town of Schwalenberg. The StreetFood Festival is part of a year-round series of events around the lake.
