International Street Food Festival with Food Trucks at the Rhine
If you want to sample the world's food scene in a compact space, come to the Street Food Festival at Neuland-Park Leverkusen at the end of July/beginning of August. Three days of food trucks and street food stalls right on the Rhine — a concept event that has caused a sensation in many major German cities in recent years and has found an ideal open-air venue in Leverkusen.
The focus is on the food trucks — mobile kitchens, often converted from vans, construction trailers, or vintage vans, with professional equipment. The range of offerings includes:
The Street Food Festival is more than just a food event. Cocktail bars and beer stands offer drinks ranging from Aperol Spritz and craft beer to classic cocktails. Live music on a small stage — bands from Cologne-Bonn-Düsseldorf, DJs in the evening — creates the atmosphere. Seating is available under gazebos, at set-up beer tables, or simply on the park lawns (picnic style). Family area with children's program.
The venue is the Sparkassen-Arena within Neuland-Park — a small open-air concert stage with surrounding open spaces, ideal for street food stalls. Direct Rhine view, old trees for shade, good public transport connections. As part of Neuland-Park's summer festival lineup (between Live am Rhein, Festival der Kulturen, Stile Italiano, Holi Festival, Sonnenbrand, Wein am Rhein, Mallorca XXL), the Street Food Festival is one of the most interesting culinary events.
The organizer is tat&drang GmbH, an agency specializing in street food events. They organize similar festivals in several NRW cities and curate the food truck lineup: no duplicates, high quality, a mix of established and new trucks. The pre-selection ensures that visitors experience genuine culinary diversity — and not just three burger trucks with similar offerings.
Street food festivals have become mainstream in NRW. Cologne (Street Food Festival at Tanzbrunnen), Düsseldorf (Foodtruck Festival at Rheinpark), Essen (Foodtruck Roundup), Bochum (Street Food Weekend) — the competition is high. Leverkusen's festival positions itself as a pleasantly manageable format between the mega-city events due to its Rhine location, free admission, and family-friendly size.
The 2026 edition is planned for the last weekend of July and early August at Neuland-Park. Organizer tat&drang GmbH curates the food truck lineup. The exact truck list will be announced before the festival. Free admission.
The truck lineup and detailed program will be announced before the festival on Facebook and lust-auf-leverkusen.de.
