Franconian wine at the gateway to the Steigerwald

The municipality of Kolitzheim is located in the district of Schweinfurt, in the state of Bavaria, east of Schweinfurt and west of the Steigerwald Nature Park. It comprises eight districts (Stammheim, Lindach, Kolitzheim, Gernach, Oberspiesheim, Unterspiesheim, Herlheim, Zeilitzheim) — and several of them are classic Franconian wine villages.

Lindach — a small wine village with a vibrant club life

Lindach is a typical Franconian wine-growing village. In summer, the local community association organizes the Straßenweinfest, where the village street becomes a wine mile for two days. Stands run by the clubs — sports club, fire brigade, traditional costume association, music association — serve guests with Franconian wine, Bratwurst, fish rolls, and other Franconian specialties.

Visitors to the Straßenweinfest Lindach can combine their stay with a tour through the Main loop (Volkach, Escherndorf, 15 km), through the Steigerwald Nature Park, or with a visit to Schweinfurt (15 km). The region is famous for its Silvaner, Franconian Bocksbeutel bottles, and small wineries with family traditions.
