One-day electronic music festival on Eckernförde's Südstrand with the motto 'Dance where others take vacation'
Eckernförde is a harbor town on the Baltic Sea in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district (Schleswig-Holstein), located between Kiel and Flensburg. With around 22,000 inhabitants, it is a popular Baltic Sea resort and naval base with a long harbor tradition. The Südstrand — a long, very fine-grained, chalk-white sandy beach south of the city center — is the main attraction for day-trippers and vacationers from the Hamburg and Kiel surrounding areas.
The Strandgut Festival utilizes this unusual constellation: Instead of an urban festival location in Kiel or Hamburg, the electronic music festival takes place directly on the beach. The slogan 'Dance where others take vacation' sums up the concept perfectly: While other vacationers swim at the beach, Strandgut guests dance. The setting is unique — chalk-white sand, turquoise water of the Eckernförde Bay, accompanied by loud beats and a stage setup that incorporates the beach scenery.
The festival covers the entire spectrum of electronic dance music — from pop-friendly House to EDM and harder Techno sets. Confirmed for 2026 are:
These headliners guarantee a crowd-pleasing yet sophisticated program — a clear statement that Strandgut is one of Northern Germany's most important one-day electronic music festivals.
