Stammbach CUBE Cup — Cross Country in the Frankenwald
In the market town of Stammbach (Hof district, Upper Franconia, Bavaria), mountain biking has a firm home. For years, the Turnverein 1902 has been organizing a cross-country race in XCO format, now known as the Stammbach CUBE Cup, which is one of the most popular hobby and junior races in Northern Bavaria.
Frankenwald as a Race Venue
Stammbach lies on the southern edge of the Frankenwald Nature Park, bordering the Fichtelgebirge — ideal conditions for challenging MTB trails. The course leads through forest and dirt paths, technical single trails, short meadow sections, and undulating woodland passages. Start and finish are at the sports and community center at Graben 3.
Categories for All Generations
The race format is family-friendly. Starts are held in numerous age categories, separated by girls/boys and women/men:
- U7 (born 2020 and younger) to U15 — shorter lap count
- U17 / U19 / Youth — medium distance
- Elite and Masters I, II, III (born 1976 and earlier) — full course
Additionally, there is a free KMC technical course for everyone who wants to try out the cross-country format without official competition.
More Than a Race — The Sports Festival
The CUBE Cup is embedded in the traditional TV sports festival with catering by the club family, demonstrations by other departments, and a relaxed end to the day at the sports grounds. Residents from Stammbach and the surrounding communities of the Hof district come to the track on race day with their families to cheer on the starters.

Getting There
Stammbach is located on the A 9 (Berlin–Munich), exit Münchberg-Süd or Bad Berneck. By train to Münchberg or Hof, then by bus. Parking at the sports and community center, Graben 3.

U7–U9: €8. U11–U15: €10. U17 and older: €12. KMC technical course: free. Late entries possible up to 60 minutes before the respective start.
