Stadtwerke Potsdam, in cooperation with ProPotsdam (20 years), Federal Police, and the City of Potsdam.

New Location, Same Concept

After years at Lustgarten and Volkspark, the Stadtwerkefest is moving to Schiffbauergasse for the first time in 2026 — Potsdam's most important cultural quarter on the Havel riverbank, a former shipyard and industrial area that has been redeveloped into the city's creative center since the 1990s. Here you will find the Hans Otto Theater, Waschhaus, T-Werk, Fluxus Museum, Fabrikgarten, and the Schiffbauergasse promenade. From July 11 to 12, 2026, the first weekend of the summer holidays, Potsdam's largest city festival will spread across this area.

Five Stages, One Quarter

The program is spread across five stages located within the cultural quarter: Hafenbühne (DJ sets), Seebühne (Improv theater Die Gorillas, Poetry Slam, Dance), Fabrikgarten (Family and children's program, Latino atmosphere in the evening with Club Latino), Waschhausarena (Drum Klub, from 11 PM “Potsdam tanzt") and Waschhausbühne (with Rokkaz/Sven Seeger, Potsdamer Kneipenchor, Big Band of the Music School, KAMA Orchester, and PoliPhonic). Starting daily from 1 PM.

Family Zone, Citizen Dialogue, Sustainability

The Fabrikgarten offers space for families: a huge bouncy castle area, water play zone, children's stage, traffic school, and a small pool and slide area. ProPotsdam — the municipal housing company — is celebrating its 20th anniversary as part of the festival. Stadtwerke and the Federal Police are presenting their work; themed stands on Sustainable Energy, municipal heating planning, street lighting, and mobility provide information on the city's future topics.

Free Admission and Tram 93

Admission to all stages and program points is free. Tram line 93 runs every 10 minutes until midnight during the festival — a noticeable relief, as parking spaces in Schiffbauergasse are limited and the quarter is best explored on foot or by bike anyway. Bicycle parking is available at the entrances.

Potsdam and the Weekend

The Stadtwerkefest traditionally takes place on the first weekend of the summer holidays — the date when families are still in the city, but the holiday program is starting at the same time. Visitors to Potsdam can easily combine the festival with a morning at Sanssouci Park, a walk through the Dutch Quarter, or a boat trip on the Havel. Its location on the water (directly on the Tiefen See) makes Schiffbauergasse the most beautiful festival site in the city, especially on summer evenings.
