35 Years of Stadtteilfarm in Bremen West
If you live in Huchting, you probably know the Stadtteilfarm since your childhood. Founded in October 1991 as part of the TV series Jetzt oder Nie, the association at Am Sodenmatt 15 has since promoted the personal development of children and young people – as an open children's and youth farm, as an educational learning place, and as a nature-oriented meeting point for the entire district. The premises are home to typical farm animals such as sheep, goats, chickens, ponies, donkeys, alpacas, and several miniature pigs, which shape the daily life on the farm.
A Colorful Family Festival for the Anniversary
For its 35th anniversary, the farm will transform into a festival ground for young and old in 2026. Games, hands-on activities, as well as food and drinks await you in the usual warm atmosphere of the Stadtteilfarm. The anniversary is an invitation to families, neighbors, and all who have remained connected to the farm over the years – an afternoon celebrating 35 years of commitment to children, animals, and community in Bremen West.

Learning Place and Meeting Point for the District
Huchting is one of the green districts in the west of the Hanseatic city of Bremen, characterized by residential areas. The Stadtteilfarm is an important social anchor here: it primarily targets children and young people aged eight and above, combines nature experience, animal care, and open youth work, and enables direct contact with farm animals in the middle of the city. In addition to open hours, there are educational programs for schools and kindergartens, as well as cooking and creative courses. The anniversary festival focuses precisely on this self-image – a gift from the farm to the state of Bremen and its district.
