Hamburg's longest open-air concert series at the Winterhude open-air stage
When the open-air stage opens in May, the concert summer begins for many Hamburg residents. The Stadtpark Open Air has been the Hansestadt's central open-air series since the 1970s — not a one-off festival week, but a concert sequence spread over four months with almost daily performances. The open-air stage in Hamburg's Stadtpark seats around 4,000 people and is located in the middle of the 148-hectare park in Winterhude.
The program spans across popular music: Rock legends like Foreigner, ZZ Top, and The BossHoss, Pop with Charlie Puth, Nena, Seal, and Zaz, Indie with Beirut, Agnes Obel, Ethel Cain, Angus & Julia Stone, and Glen Hansard, Hip-Hop and Soul with Max Herre & Joy Denalane and The Streets, Reggae with The Wailers, plus German-speaking Hamburg favorites like Lotto King Karl, Madsen, Dick Brave, and the Heaven Can Wait Chor.
In addition to main concerts, there are special formats every year: the children's music open-air Lütt im Park, benefit open-airs (e.g., for the children's hospital), as well as special theme nights and the Hamburg choir evening "Der Norden singt". The organizer is FKP Scorpio Konzertproduktionen GmbH together with Funke Ticket and the City of Hamburg.
The stage is located in the Winterhude district in Hamburg-Nord, directly on Saarlandstraße. Accessible via U3 Borgweg or S-Bahn Alte Wöhr. The Stadtpark — designed by Fritz Schumacher between 1909 and 1914 — is one of the city's most important recreational areas, along with the Hamburg Planetarium and Stadtparksee.
From May 16 to September 13, 2026, the Stadtpark Open Air will host over 40 concerts on the open-air stage in Winterhude. Confirmed acts include: Foreigner, ZZ Top, Seal, Nena, Madness, Garbage, Charlie Puth, Beirut, Ethel Cain, Agnes Obel, Glen Hansard, The Streets, Max Herre & Joy Denalane, Angus & Julia Stone, The Wailers, Counting Crows, Helge Schneider, Zaz, Xavier Rudd, Haevn, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Florian Künstler, The BossHoss, Madsen, Lotto King Karl, Dick Brave, Deine Freunde, Erobique, Marlo Großhardt, Lichterkinder, and Heaven Can Wait Chor.
On May 24, the benefit open-air celebrates the 15th anniversary of the children's hospital concerts with Leony, Max Giesinger, Sophia, and Special Guests. On June 21, the children's open-air Lütt im Park will take place.
