Stadtfest Westerstede & Stadtstrand 2026

Summer Kick-off in the Rhododendron Town

The Stadtfest Westerstede is a one-day open-air event that traditionally kicks off the five-week Stadtstrand season every August at Albert-Post-Platz. Organized by Wirtschaftsforum Westerstede e.V., it represents a consistent development of the "Summer City Center" concept.

2026 Edition on August 7

The 2026 edition takes place on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 4 PM to 10 PM. Six hours during which the city center transforms into a festival mile — with multiple stages, culinary stalls, and a relaxed after-work vibe. Concurrently, the Stadtstrand opens for the first time on Alter Markt, running until September 13, 2026.

Program Highlights

Expect live bands and DJ sets on several stages, a culinary offering featuring local restaurants, food trucks, and cocktail bars, as well as a family area with activities for children. The Stadtfest also traditionally ushers in the extended summer weekend.

Westerstede — City Marketing as a Success Model

Wirtschaftsforum Westerstede is one of the most active city marketing associations in the Ammerland region. Stadtfest, Stadtstrand, Westerstede à la Carte, Herbstmarkt (Autumn Market), and Winterdorf (Winter Village) — the series of city center events is dense and makes Westerstede a location where "city life" can be experienced intensely, even beyond the major cities.
