A 46-Year Tradition

The Neuenstadter Stadtfest celebrates its 46th edition in 2026 — a format that has dominated the last weekend of May in the Hohenlohe town since the early 1980s. The town of Neuenstadt am Kocher organizes the festival together with local clubs, groups, and restaurateurs, who set up numerous stalls and attractions in the town center. The festival weekend runs from Saturday, May 30 to Sunday, May 31, 2026 — a compact two days, classic southern German style.

Three Squares, One Festival Mile

The festival takes place on three connected squares: the central Marktplatz, the adjacent Hauptstraße, and Lindenplatz. The town center will be closed to traffic, and the festival mile will connect around the distinctive town tower — the town's landmark. Two stages will host the musical program: local bands, dance groups, choirs, and occasionally regional artists will perform on both days.

RadCHECK — A Swabian Civic Service Idea

A special feature of the Neuenstadter Stadtfest is the RadCHECK on Saturday morning: A team of bicycle mechanics, local police, or ADFC members offers a free bicycle traffic safety check. Bikes will be checked for brakes, lights, bell, and roadworthiness; minor repairs or advice will be provided on-site. A service idea that combines the town festival character with civic service — a way to make the town center a functional place for the community.

Children's Program — Magic, Hands-on Stations

For the younger visitors, there is a packed children's program: creative hands-on stations (crafting, painting, games), magic shows with an interactive character (children are involved in the tricks), face painting. Local clubs — sports, music, traditional costume, scouts — participate in the stations with their own offerings. The family-friendly approach is programmatic and attracts families from all over the Hohenlohe region.

Neuenstadt am Kocher — Hohenlohe Small Town

Neuenstadt am Kocher, with around 7,900 inhabitants, is a town in the Heilbronn district in the state of Baden-Württemberg, located at the transition from the Heilbronn Basin to the Hohenlohe region. The town is known regionally for its distinctive Stadtturm (town tower) from the Middle Ages, which dominates the town center's skyline. The town festival on the last weekend of May is one of the three highlights of the town calendar, alongside the Advent market in December and the Kocherfest in summer. Its location between Heilbronn (20 minutes by train) and Schwäbisch Hall (30 minutes by car) regularly brings visitors from surrounding medium-sized towns.
