Annual city festival in the Eichsfeld – music, culinary delights, and family program
Leinefelde-Worbis was created in 2004 from the merger of the two Eichsfeld towns of Leinefelde and Worbis. The joint Stadtfest (city festival) is a symbol of this union – an annual meeting point that brings together the citizens of both districts.
The Eichsfeld – that historical landscape in northwestern Thuringia and southern Lower Saxony – is known for its Catholic heritage, its culinary tradition (Eichsfeld sausages), and its folk festivals (Volksfeste). The Stadtfest Leinefelde-Worbis is in this tradition: music, Eichsfeld specialties, and a family program are the central ingredients.
Leinefelde-Worbis belongs to the Eichsfeld district in the north of Thuringia, on the border with Lower Saxony. The town, with around 18,000 inhabitants, is the district capital center of the region and the venue for the 2026 State Garden Show – another major event that makes the city festival particularly prominent this year.
In 2026, the city festival coincides with the 2026 State Garden Show in Leinefelde-Worbis – an exceptional year for the town. The detailed program will be published on leinefelde-worbis.de and on the event page meinestadt.de.
The city festival takes place in the year of the 2026 State Garden Show, which Leinefelde-Worbis is hosting from April to October 2026. Special synergies are expected in the program.
Leinefelde-Worbis is located on the Berlin–Frankfurt high-speed train line (Leinefelde station) and is easily accessible via the A 38 motorway (Leinefelde-Worbis exit).
