Playful city festival in Dissen am Teutoburger Wald with music, street art, and family program
Dissen am Teutoburger Wald (short Dissen aTW), with around 9,500 inhabitants, is one of the smaller towns in the Osnabrück district, but its city festival is one of the liveliest in the region. The annual "Dissen skurril" event was deliberately designed to stand out from conventional city festivals: instead of a tightly scheduled headliner stage, the organizers focus on a colorful mix of regional bands, walking acts, small-scale performances, and interactive stations. The city center thus becomes an experienceable stage where visitors can stroll from square to square and be surprised.
The festival weekend begins on Friday evening with the opening and first live performances. Saturday brings the full program of music, street art, club contributions, and catering, while Sunday combines the family day with a Sunday opening for shopping. Regional bands and solo artists from the southern Osnabrück region and the neighboring Wittlager Land perform on several stages. Walking acts and street artists provide surprising moments between the stages.
The family offerings range from face painting and game stations to small carousels. The Dissen club scene participates with stands, demonstrations, and catering. The Sunday opening for shopping integrates the downtown retail sector and turns the festival day into a convivial stroll through the city.
The festival opens on Friday evening, Saturday brings the full program, and Sunday is the family day with a Sunday opening for shopping. Several stages, walking acts, and interactive stations are spread throughout the city center.
The mix of regional live music, street art, and club contributions remains the hallmark of "Dissen skurril".
The detailed 2026 program will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years and preserves the playful, "skurril" character of the festival.
