Three Days on the Banks of the Mulde

Bad Düben, the spa town in northern Saxony on the banks of the Mulde in the Nordsachsen district, hosts its Stadtfest every year at the end of May. What began in 2005 as a modest community festival is now one of the most important events in northern Saxony. Mayor Torsten Gaber speaks of an "venerable yet ever-youthful spa town" – fitting words for a festival that embodies both tradition and energy.

More Than Just a Stage and Beer

What makes the Stadtfest Bad Düben special is the combination of a Volksfest and social engagement. In addition to stage music, showmen, and catering, you'll find:

• the Health and Activity Fair with exhibitors focusing on well-being and exercise
• the Bad Düben Läuft run organized by SV Bad Düben, a community run with various distances
• the ecumenical church service on Sunday
• the Blaulichtmeile (emergency services mile) featuring fire departments, the German Red Cross (DRK), and the Federal Police, who display their vehicles for visitors to explore
• a large festive parade through the town center on Sunday

Civic Engagement as the Driving Force

Behind the festival is the Karambolage Group in collaboration with the town of Bad Düben and an unusually active citizenry. "Our town festival thrives on volunteer work," emphasizes the mayor – a statement that is palpable in every club presentation and every program item.
