Two days of festivities in the mountain town of the Schwarzwald-Baar district with a town run, stage program, and club street.
The St. Georgen Town Festival is one of the traditional summer festivals in the Schwarzwald-Baar district. Every summer on the first weekend of July, the town and local clubs transform the center of St. Georgen into a festive backdrop – the 2026 edition takes place on Saturday, July 4th, and Sunday, July 5th.
Unlike commercial large festivals, the St. Georgen Town Festival thrives on its clubs: sports clubs, music bands, traditional costume groups, church groups, school groups, and social organizations run the stands. Food and drinks are served by the local club community – proceeds go into the club treasuries and thus back into the social and cultural life of St. Georgen.
On several stages in the town center, brass bands, local bands, choirs, and music associations from St. Georgen and the surrounding communities perform. Sunday morning is dedicated to the classic Frühschoppen (morning pint), and Saturday evening to dance and party bands.
The town run takes place parallel to the festival weekend – a popular run through St. Georgen that attracts amateur athletes and sports families from the region to the mountain town. Various distances from children's runs to the main course, with start and finish in the middle of the festival.
St. Georgen im Schwarzwald is located in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in Baden-Württemberg at around 810 m above sea level – one of Germany's highest towns. Known as the Black Forest's clock and phonograph town (home of the former Dual turntable factory and the Wehrle clock industry), it is now a central hub for the Hochschwarzwald mountain region. The town festival is an opportunity to discover the town between the monastery church, the Phono Museum, and the Black Forest hiking trails.
