Season Opener of the Emsland Kirmes Year

The Spring Kirmes Lingen is traditionally the first major event in the Lingen Volksfest calendar and the largest spring funfair in the region. Organized by the city of Lingen at the modern EmslandArena fairgrounds, the Kirmes offers four days of fun for all ages – an ideal start to the warmer season.

Spectacular Rides 2026

The announced lineup for 2026 promises highlights for adrenaline lovers:

• “Around the World” – 50-meter-high Ferris wheel offering views over the Emsland and the EmslandArena
• “Davy Jones DELIRIUM” – spectacular looping ride with a pirate theme
• “Intoxx” – modern looping ride with high rotation speed
• “Break Dance” – Kirmes classic with high acceleration
• “Mexico City Rollercoaster” – family-friendly rollercoaster with themed design

In addition, there are the classic Kirmes attractions: bumper cars, carousels, haunted house, shooting galleries, lottery stalls, and various food stands offering bratwurst, crêpes, candied almonds, gingerbread, potato pancakes, and more.

Friday, May 1st, 2026 — Opening + Family Day

• Opening at 3:30 PM by Mayor Dieter Krone
• Family Day with discounted prices at many rides
• Fireworks at dusk – highlight of the opening day

Saturday, May 2nd — Sunday, May 3rd, 2026

• Full Kirmes operation from 2 PM to 11 PM (Sat) and 2 PM to 10 PM (Sun)

Monday, May 4th, 2026 — Closing Evening

• Last day of the festival from 2 PM to 10 PM
• Winding down the spring season

Fares and Family Friendliness

Friday as Family Day with discounts makes the opening weekend particularly attractive for families with children. Admission to the fairgrounds is free; ride prices are set by individual attractions.
