Four summer nights of open-air cinema in the Spessart
Spessartflimmern is one of those small but carefully organized open-air cinema festivals typical of the South German summer landscape. It is supported by Frammersbach Marketing eG, which has been shaping the cultural, market, and tourism program of the Spessart village for years.
The programming traditionally focuses on a mix: current audience favorites (comedies, family films, dramas), occasionally a classic or a German independent film. Four consecutive evenings mean that cinephile guests can attend the entire program like a small festival – others choose individual films.
Frammersbach is located in the Main-Spessart district (Lower Franconia, Bavaria), nestled in the wooded highlands of the Spessart. The historic market town was once a central hub for the Frammersbach carters, who transported goods between Italy, France, and Central Europe in the Middle Ages and early modern period. Today, tourism and a vibrant club life characterize the image of the community with around 4,700 inhabitants.
From August 5 to 8, 2026, the Frammersbach venue will transform into an open-air cinema hall every evening. The exact film titles are traditionally released a few weeks before the festival, once the licenses are cleared. The program classically includes a family film, a current audience hit, a classic, and an independent film.
Snack stands and beverage service are part of the concept. Frammersbach Marketing eG provides information via the Tourist Info (phone 09355 4800) and the website framag.de about the program, tickets, and weather-related decisions.
The film titles will be announced via the official channels of Frammersbach Marketing eG a few weeks before the festival begins.
Family-friendly admission prices, usually between €6 and €9 per evening. Tickets available on-site or in advance. In case of heavy rain, relocation or postponement – latest information on framag.de.
