Run, Network, Celebrate

For over a decade, the Sparkassen Firmenlauf Oberhausen has been the most important corporate sports event in the city and the western Ruhr region. On Thursday, June 18, 2026, thousands of participants from Oberhausen and neighboring companies will combine a 5.9-kilometer run with a relaxed after-run party. The concept: Run with your colleagues, in your company jersey, without performance pressure — and then celebrate at AQUApark with a DJ and catering.

The Course — 5.9 km Along the Rhein-Herne Canal

Start and Finish: AQUApark Oberhausen (Im Kaisergarten 12). The course leads along the Rhein-Herne Canal — a flat, fast course without significant elevation changes. Asphalt path, well-marked, with a refreshment station halfway. 5.9 km — ideal for hobby runners and walkers, short enough for an after-work run, long enough for a training effect.

Four Starting Waves for Every Pace

So that everyone can participate, there are four different starting waves:

• The Hares — for regularly running, fast participants (Pace 4:30–5:30 min/km)
• The Foxes — hobby runners who enjoy running (Pace 5:30–7:00 min/km)
• The Hedgehogs — relaxed pace (Pace 7:00–8:30 min/km)
• The Turtles — walkers, no performance pressure

This wave division prevents congestion at the start and ensures that everyone runs at their own pace.

Registration and Prices

Registration opens on February 16, 2026 via oberhausener-firmenlauf.de with tiered pricing:

• Early Bird (February 16 – March 29): €24 net
• Standard (March 30 – June 9): €26 net
• Late (June 10–18): €29 net

Late registrations on race day receive reserve bib numbers. Registration deadline for personalized bib numbers: June 9, 2026.

Charity — €1 Per Registration

For every registration, €1 goes to the Mattlerhof nature and animal education center — an animal-assisted therapy facility in the region. The donation is equally supported by the organizer CONTACT GmbH and the title sponsor Stadtsparkasse Oberhausen.

After-Run Party

After the run, the After-Run Party awaits on the grounds at AQUApark — DJ, food trucks, bar with beer and non-alcoholic drinks, award ceremonies for the fastest corporate teams. Here, colleagues from different companies can chat — networking at eye level, often sweaty and in running jerseys.

New Title Sponsor 2026: Stadtsparkasse Oberhausen

In 2026, Stadtsparkasse Oberhausen replaces the previous title sponsors and gives the run its official name: Sparkassen Firmenlauf Oberhausen. A logical connection — the Stadtsparkasse has long been a committed sponsor of local clubs and sports events.

With the AQUApark, the Rhein-Herne Canal Cycle Path, and the OlgaPark, Oberhausen has several ideal running routes. The corporate run is the most popular event of its kind and is a fixed after-work date for many local companies.
