The Karl May Festival Mörschied is the most significant open-air theatre production in the Birkenfeld district and one of the most traditional Karl May stages in the German Southwest. At the Mörschied Open-Air Stage on Karl May Weg, the volunteer theatre group combines elaborate stage sets, equestrian artistry, stunts, and live acting every year to create a grand narrative from Karl May's world. Getting There
Mörschied is conveniently located between Idar-Oberstein and Kirn. Travel via the B41 or B422; parking is available directly at the stage area. Public transport connections from Idar-Oberstein and Kirn are available, but travel by car is recommended.
Admission
The stage opens about 90 minutes before the performance begins. This leaves enough time to explore the Western backdrop, take your seats in the stands, and enjoy the catering. On “Special Saturdays,” the supporting programme starts as early as 4:30 PM.
