About Spandauer Winterland

The Spandauer Winterland is Berlin's big winter funfair in the Spandau district. On a former post office site directly opposite the Spandau Arcaden, on Brunsbütteler Damm and Ruhlebener Straße, a huge area is transformed annually between mid-November and shortly before Christmas into a winter world of experience: spectacular rides, classic carousels, a fairy tale forest, the mulled wine village, and food stalls characterize the scene. Admission is free. An S-Bahn and U-Bahn hub right next door makes the Winterland one of the most easily accessible Christmas funfair sites in the capital.

Berlin's Winter Funfair in Spandau

In just a few years, the Spandauer Winterland has become one of Berlin's best-known winter funfairs. In the Spandau district, one of the capital's greenest and westernmost districts, the organizer uses the large former post office site directly opposite the Spandau Arcaden between Brunsbütteler Damm and Ruhlebener Straße. The location is exceptional: U7 Rathaus Spandau and S-Bahn station Spandau are just a two-minute walk away.

Rides, Fairy Tale Forest, and Ferris Wheel

On the grounds, you'll find a colorful mix of Berlin funfair tradition and large modern rides: a Ferris wheel with a view of Spandau's old town, roller coasters for children and the brave, "Wellenflug" (wave flyer), dodgems, a haunted house, and classic carousels. Between the rides runs a fairy tale forest, where figures from Grimm's fairy tales welcome the youngest visitors.

Mulled Wine Village and Bratwurst

In the middle of the grounds, the Glühweindorf (mulled wine village) sets up its wooden huts: mulled wine, punch, eggnog, along with bratwurst, potato pancakes, candied almonds, and Lángos. A small stage provides live music and atmosphere on some evenings – the Winterland is also a meeting point for Spandau families, clubs, and young people.

Free Admission, Right in Spandau

Unlike many classic Berlin Christmas markets, the Spandauer Winterland is primarily a funfair, not a craft market. Admission is free; individual rides and stalls are paid for directly on site. Those visiting the old town of Spandau with its classic Christmas market can combine both in one day – the old town flair and the winter funfair are barely more than 500 meters apart.

Spandauer Winterland — edition 2026

The Spandauer Winterland 2026 is announced as a winter funfair on the former post office site opposite the Spandau Arcaden. The exact dates will be announced by the organizer in the autumn of 2026, as usual. Following previous years, a runtime of about six weeks is expected between mid-November and shortly before Christmas Eve, featuring a Ferris wheel, fairy tale forest, rides, and a mulled wine village. Free admission.

For the Spandauer Winterland 2026, the organizer traditionally announces the exact dates only in the autumn of 2026. The previous years serve as a basis for planning, during which the Winterland opened in mid-November and ended shortly before Christmas (in 2025, it ran from November 14th to December 23rd). In 2026, the former post office site at Brunsbütteler Damm / Ruhlebener Straße in 13597 Berlin-Spandau will again be used.

Confirmed by the official Berlin website are the character (funfair rather than a classic Christmas market), the location (opposite Spandau Arcaden), and free admission. Program elements such as spectacular rides, a Ferris wheel, a fairy tale forest, and a mulled wine village are expected to continue in 2026.
