The Sommernachtsfest of the FF Rettenbach is one of those typical small summer festivals that shape community life in the villages of the Bavarian Forest. It takes place at the fire station in Rettenbach, a classic Upper Palatinate village in the Cham district, and with its snack stand, beer service, and live music, it is the central summer event of the local fire brigade.

Program and Atmosphere

The festival follows the logic of a Bavarian club festival: Festival starts at 6 PM with catering at the fire station, plus live or party music from a regional band, cold and warm dishes from its own kitchen, and beer on tap. Families sit together in the early evening; from midnight onwards, the younger crowd takes over the dance floor.

The FF Rettenbach is – as in many small Bavarian Forest villages – one of the central clubs in the village.
