The largest party mile in the Palatinate with around seven stages in Landau's city center
For years, the Landauer Sommer has been the defining open-air festival in Landau, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to the city center over the weekend. With its self-proclaimed title as the 'largest party mile in the Palatinate,' the festival confidently distinguishes itself from the region's smaller wine festivals and targets a young, urban audience without excluding the traditional Palatinate crowd.
During the festival weekend, around seven stages will be set up in the city center – on Rathausplatz, in front of the Schlössel, on Marktstraße, Königstraße, Obertorplatz, and other locations. Each stage has its own musical profile: Rock and Pop, acoustic sets, Jazz and Soul, Electronic for the late hours, and Schlager-heavy sing-along formats for a mixed audience.
A central pillar of the festival is the wine service provided by regional vintners from Landau and the Southern Wine Route. Schorle, Riesling, Burgundy, and sparkling wine flow from the wine stands. In addition, cocktail bars, street food trucks, classic snack stands, and Palatinate specialties such as Saumagen, Flammkuchen, and Spießbraten characterize the culinary offerings.
The Landauer Sommer has always been free of charge. Visitors stroll freely through the city center, move between stages, and find themselves in different places. This accessibility is a hallmark of the festival.
The complete lineup is traditionally announced shortly before the festival through the official channels of Visit Landau and via social media. The organizer is the city of Landau in cooperation with local gastronomy and cultural partners. Experience from previous years suggests a dense, multi-hour program on each of the three days.
The city center transforms into a continuous stage landscape during the festival weekend. From 11 AM, squares and alleys fill up, main concerts begin in the late afternoon, and DJ sets run until 1 AM at night. Sunday is traditionally dedicated to a family-friendly program with an early end.
The complete 2026 lineup will be published shortly before the festival weekend on visitlandau.de and social media. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years: around seven stages with different musical styles.
