A Village Celebrates Its Fire Brigade
Wetzelsberg is a small district of the municipality of Stallwang in the Straubing-Bogen district, in the heart of the Bavarian Forest foothills. In 2026, the local Volunteer Fire Brigade is celebrating its 150th anniversary – a significant event for the entire village community, as the fire brigade is both the most important emergency organization and the social center here.

The celebration lasts for four days on the festival grounds at the Wetzelsberg sports field, with marquee operations and a large parade.
