DELKultur e.V. is a non-profit association that has been shaping the cultural life in Delmenhorst for years. With Sommerkultur, the association has created a format that turns the city into a stage in midsummer for a week – showcasing both established and yet unknown acts in the spotlight.

The location is carefully chosen. Rathausbrunnenplatz is located in the shadow of the historic Wasserturm, one of Delmenhorst's landmarks. The compact, urban atmosphere creates a special closeness between stage and audience – a festival character that clearly differs from large open-airs.

Tuesday, August 4 – Free Opening Evening

The kick-off on Tuesday, August 4, is traditionally a gift from the organizers to the city: local and regional bands, who give profile to the Delmenhorst music scene, perform with free admission. Anyone who wants to experience Sommerkultur without buying a ticket should remember this date.

Wednesday to Saturday – International Line-up

On the following festival days, the line-up expands to include international acts from the genres of Rock, Jazz, Blues, and World Music. DELKultur focuses on a conscious mix of established artists and new discoveries – a concept that keeps the festival musically vibrant.

Blind Date Ticket

A special feature is the Blind Date Ticket for €39 (instead of the regular €49). Those who purchase this ticket do not know the line-up of the respective evening in advance but let themselves be surprised by the program. The concept encourages musical curiosity and is a charming appreciation of the organizer's curatorial work.

Catering and Street Food
