Horses, Community, and an Estate in the North

Böklund is a municipality with just under 2,200 inhabitants in the Süderbrarup office, Schleswig-Flensburg district, located between Schleswig and Kappeln. Gut Fahrenstedt, on the southwestern outskirts, has been a center of equestrian sports in the region for generations — the Reitverein Fahrenstedt-Böklund e.V. uses the facility as a home for training, tournaments, and club life.

The Reiterrallye

The centerpiece of the Sommerfest is the Reiterrallye — a traditional club format where horse-rider teams complete a varied cross-country course. At various stations, skill, reaction, courage, and the interplay between rider and horse are tested. The mix of sporting challenge and playful tasks makes the rally entertaining for both participants and spectators.

Pure Club Life

In addition to the sporting component, the Sommerfest is primarily a family festival for the club. Coffee and cake from the club kitchen, bratwurst and beer at the barbecue stand, games for the younger guests, and a cozy get-together with music in the festival tent in the evening. The entire equestrian family of the region — parents, children, horse owners, stable neighbors — comes together.
