About Seefest Bucher Stausee
Seefest Bucher Stausee — edition 2026
On the evening of Friday, August 7, 2026, the municipality of Rainau and the Citizens' Association, together with local clubs, will transform the shore of the Bucher Stausee into a convivial festival ground starting at 5 PM. At the catering stands, you can enjoy beer, regional wines, hearty club cuisine, and sweet specialties. Summer Evening by the Lake
The Seefest am Bucher Stausee is a comparatively young, but already firmly established event in the festival calendar of the municipality of Rainau (Ostalbkreis, state of Baden-Württemberg). The festival is organized by the Municipality of Rainau in cooperation with the Rainau Citizens' Association and numerous local clubs. The venue is the festival grounds directly on the shore of the Bucher Stausee – a reservoir created by damming the Jagst river, which has developed into the largest leisure and recreation area in the Ostalbkreis.
Club Life by the Water
Unlike professionally organized large events, the Seefest thrives on the voluntary commitment of Rainau's clubs. The fire department, sports clubs, music clubs, and other local groups take care of the catering and ensure a family-friendly atmosphere. Anyone who has experienced a classic Swabian club festival knows: it's not about size, but about coziness under linden trees and the reservoir breeze.
What's on Offer
- Catering with beer, regional wines, and non-alcoholic drinks
- Hearty club cuisine: sausages, steaks, fries
- Sweet specialties and coffee in the afternoon
- Live music from the region
- Children's program in a relaxed lake atmosphere
Bucher Stausee — the Blue Pearl of the Ostalb
The Bucher Stausee was built in the early 1970s as a flood retention basin for the Jagst river and quickly developed into a popular local recreation area. With its bathing beach, boat rental, a peninsula, playgrounds, and hiking trails, it attracts thousands of visitors from all over the region on summer days. The Limes Museum in Aalen and the Roman Fort Buch are also only a few kilometers away – the entire area is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes.
