Festival by the Water
The Hohnsensee is one of Hildesheim's defining recreational waters: an inner-city lake with a beach area (the JoBeach), sunbathing lawns, sports facilities, and gastronomic offerings. The Seefest consistently uses this setting as its festival backdrop: two stages, sunbathing lawns for the audience, the lake as a visual anchor in the background, plus beach, sports, and leisure activities that add a summery, relaxed dimension to the festival experience.
Twelve Acts, Two Stages
Over the three festival days, twelve acts are spread across two stages. A main stage presents the bigger program items with national bands, while a second stage offers a smaller platform for regional artists, newcomers, and acoustic sets. This division gives the festival diversity and creates space for discoveries beyond the headliners.
Stylistic Variety
The program ranges from Rock and Indie to Pop and Singer-Songwriter, as well as Funk, Soul, and occasionally electronic elements. The exact lineup changes from year to year and will be announced by the organizer in spring 2026.
Sports and Leisure Activities
Unlike a pure concert festival, the Seefest utilizes the sports and leisure infrastructure of the JoBeach area: beach volleyball, stand-up paddling, canoe rental, pedal boating on the lake, and the JoBeach swimming area are part of the accompanying program. Those who arrive early can start the day with sports and water activities and switch to the concert program in the late afternoon.
Gastronomy and Atmosphere
Gastronomic offerings on the festival grounds cover a range from food truck classics to salads, vegan options, ice cream, cocktails, and beer. The beach atmosphere of JoBeach defines the setting: barefoot in the sand, with the sunset over the lake behind you, with a deck chair or picnic blanket.
Location and Arrival
The JoBeach area is located at Lucienvörder Allee 1 in Hildesheim, easily accessible by car and public transport. Festival parking spaces will be designated in the surrounding area, and there are connections from Hildesheim main station by city bus.
