Open-air festival for electronic music in the Bavarian Prealps
For several years, Season of Sounds has been bringing electronic music to a landscape more typically associated with hiking and the Almabtrieb (cattle drive): the Bavarian Prealps around Lenggries. The festival site, the Jaudenhang parking lot above the Wegscheid district, is situated on a hill with a sweeping view of the Isarwinkel valley and is accessible via Untermurbach.
It offers an open-air format with a central dance floor and a catering area. Genres: Techno, House, Tech-House, and crossovers in electronic sound. The festival runs from 1 PM until late into the night — during the summer months, the early program has the advantage of experiencing the mountain panorama in daylight before the main sets begin.
Lenggries, with around 9,600 inhabitants, is a market town in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, in the state of Bavaria. It is primarily known as a winter sports resort at the Brauneck and as the gateway to the Upper Bavarian Isarwinkel. The combination of classic alpine tourism infrastructure and a progressive electronic festival is unusual for the region — and that's precisely what makes Season of Sounds so appealing. Those who arrive early can go hiking during the day and switch to the dance floor in the late afternoon.
The audience is mixed — Munich club-goers, Lenggries locals, and international Prealps tourism visitors. The atmosphere is noticeably more exuberant than at large urban festivals, but no less sophisticated in its booking. Nationally known acts like Felix Kröcher or Lexer have been on the lineup in the past. The festival is for ages 18 and over.
The 2026 edition takes place on Saturday, June 13 — the date is confirmed via the official festival website and Snapticket ticketing. Doors open at 12:30 PM, festival starts at 1:00 PM. The program ends at 1:00 AM. The venue is the Jaudenhang parking lot above Lenggries (Untermurbach 22, 83661 Lenggries).
The full lineup had not yet been announced at the time of research — the festival website states "Line Up (alphabetic order): tba soon". In previous years, the festival has combined national acts like Felix Kröcher and Lexer with regional talents. Latest updates on season-of-sounds.de and Instagram.
