Anniversary Festival Weekend for the 900th Anniversary of the Municipality of Schwabbruck in the Auerbergland Region
In 2026, the municipality of Schwabbruck in southwestern Upper Bavaria will celebrate its 900th anniversary. Schwabbruck is located in the Weilheim-Schongau district, in the scenically beautiful Auerbergland region – between Schongau, Steingaden, and the Lech Valley. On the occasion of the anniversary, the municipality, together with all local clubs, is organizing a three-day festival weekend.
The festival weekend is listed in the event calendar of the neighboring municipality of Schwabsoien as well as in Schwabbruck's own schedule. According to current announcements, the following are planned:
The Pröbstlmühle mill is a traditional venue in Schwabbruck and one of the central locations for the anniversary celebration. It will be used for both the Frühschoppen and the coffee and cake program; the exact program structure (performances, gastronomic offerings, guided tours) will be announced before the festival weekend.
Schwabbruck (around 600 inhabitants) is one of the typical small farming and residential communities in the Pfaffenwinkel/Auerbergland region. The area between the Allgäu and Tölzer Land is scenically attractive and culturally characterized by pilgrimage churches (Wieskirche near Steingaden) and a strong club life. The 900th anniversary is an occasion to celebrate regional identity.
The municipality of Schwabbruck in the Weilheim-Schongau district will host the official festival weekend for its 900th anniversary from Friday, July 31st, to Sunday, August 2nd, 2026. The date is documented in the event calendar of the neighboring municipality of Schwabsoien and confirmed via Schwabbruck's own municipal website (2026 schedules).
