Schützenfest Leeseringen

Leeseringen — Village in the Samtgemeinde Mittelweser

Leeseringen is a district of the municipality of Estorf and belongs to the Samtgemeinde Mittelweser in the Nienburg/Weser district. The Samtgemeinde comprises several villages along the Weser river between Nienburg and Stolzenau and is characterised by a dense network of clubs, including numerous marksmen's clubs, sports clubs, fire brigades, and local heritage associations.

Leeseringen Marksmen's Club

The Leeseringen Marksmen's Club organises its annual Schützenfest at the Leeseringen Community Centre, a central meeting point in the village. The festival follows the classic structure of a North German Schützenfest and involves the village community, friendly clubs from the Samtgemeinde, and the marksmen's families.

Significance of Marksmen's Clubs

For centuries, Schützenfeste in Lower Saxony have been an expression of village community, club culture, and lived tradition. They combine sporting discipline (shooting) with social occasions (dance evening, festival parade, king's dinner) and a function of identity for the local community. One-Day Event on Saturday

The Schützenfest Leeseringen is designed as a one-day event on Saturday. Unlike major Schützenfeste with three or four days of programming, the schedule is concentrated on a single day: morning club shooting, midday king's dinner, afternoon festival parade and reception, evening dance event in the festival tent or community centre.
