Four-day Schützenfest with Kirmes in the Lindlar district of Linde – citizens' shooting competition, ecumenical service, Schützenball, parade, and crowning of the king
Lindlar is a municipality in the Oberbergischer Kreis (Bergisches Land), east of Cologne. With around 22,000 inhabitants and over 50 districts, the municipality cultivates a particularly strong shooting tradition: almost every district has its own shooting club. Linde is one of these districts, and the Sankt Sebastianus Schützenbruderschaft Linde 1921 e.V., with its four-day Schützenfest, is a firm fixture in the event calendar.
The Schützenfest and Kirmes in Linde 2026 will take place from Friday, June 5th, to Monday, June 8th, 2026, on the traditional festival grounds in Linde (district of Lindlar). Four days of festivities, each with its own focus.
The organizer is the Sankt Sebastianus Schützenbruderschaft Linde 1921 e.V., founded over 100 years ago. The club preserves the traditional shooting customs with a king couple, companies, and guards, while also opening the festival widely – the citizens' shooting competition, children's festival, and open-air concerts appeal to a broad audience from the entire Oberbergischer Kreis region.
Lindlar belongs to the Bergisches Land region and is located between Cologne and Gummersbach. Characterized by its low mountain landscape with forests, meadows, and stream valleys, the municipality is a popular recreational area for the Cologne-Bonn region. Schützenfeste like the one in Linde have been a firm part of the regional summer life for generations.
