International Street Food Festival with around 30 Food Trucks and Sunday Shopping
Street food has long been more than just a food trend. It's a unique form of gastronomic encounter that combines proximity to the chef, quick preparation times, and the experience of urban spaces. The Food Truck Festival Peine brings this format to the city center, creating a special culinary meeting point for a weekend in September.
Each year, the organizers invite a carefully curated selection of about thirty trucks. The range is vast: American classics like smash burgers and pulled pork, Asian specialties such as Korean bao buns, Vietnamese Bánh Mì, or Thai curries, Latin American options like Argentinian asado and Mexican tacos, plus Italian pasta, French crepes, and Lower Saxon classics with a modern twist. Vegetarian and vegan trucks are, of course, represented.
The trucks are spread throughout the city center. Seating areas with beer tables, standing tables, and lounge furniture invite visitors to linger. Live music, bar stands, and a varied accompanying program transform the city center into a relaxed open-air street food lounge.
On Sunday, Peine's retailers open their shops from 1:00 PM for the Sunday shopping event. This combination of culinary festival and shopping Sunday makes the weekend particularly attractive for families and day-trippers from the Hanover-Braunschweig-Wolfsburg region.
The festival is a cooperation between Peine Marketing and Foodtruck Festivals Germany, one of the most experienced organizers of this type of event. The sponsor is Wohnbau Salzgitter, which supports the city of Peine's commitment to location and city center development.
The festival weekend thrives on the diversity of the trucks and the relaxed atmosphere in the city center. Seating areas, lounge furniture, and standing tables invite visitors to linger, while live music accompanies the culinary experience.
On Sunday afternoon, the shops in the city center open their doors. This combination makes the weekend an attractive destination for day-trippers from the entire region.
The final list of participating trucks will be published by Foodtruck Festivals Germany in September 2026.
