Traditional Spring Schützenfest of SV Husum 1932 at the sports ground
The Schützenverein Husum von 1932 is a traditional club in the municipality of Husum in the Nienburg/Weser district. With over 90 years of club history, it is one of the established clubs in the Mittelweser collective municipality. Its founding in the 1930s is typical for many North German clubs that were consolidated organizationally during that period.
Important: The municipality of Husum in the Nienburg/Weser district is not to be confused with the well-known town of Husum in Schleswig-Holstein. The Lower Saxony Husum is a separate, smaller municipality on the Mittelweser, belonging to the Mittelweser collective municipality.
The venue is the Schützenhaus on Zum Sportplatz 49 street — its own club grounds, which also shows its connection to the sports club neighborhood in its name. Shooting ranges, club house, and festival meadow provide the necessary infrastructure for a Schützenfest.
Unlike most North German Schützenfeste, which take place in the summer months of June to August, the Husum festival follows an unusual spring tradition in April. The last known date was April 28-29, 2018. This early date often makes the Husum festival the first Schützenfest of the year in the Mittelweser collective municipality, thus marking a special season opener.
Even though the exact date for 2026 has not yet been officially confirmed, the festival will follow the classic North German Schützenfest tradition as usual: King's shooting, festival parade, King's dinner, dance evening, family program. Friendly clubs from the Mittelweser collective municipality will participate in the festival parade.
The shooting club will publish the exact date and detailed program for 2026 in spring via the Mittelweser collective municipality and nienburg-online.de.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in advance. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
Schützenhaus, Zum Sportplatz 49, 31632 Husum (Mittelweser collective municipality, Nienburg/Weser district). Not to be confused with Husum in Schleswig-Holstein!
April 2026 — exact date to follow after club announcement. Tradition: last weekend in April (2018: April 28–29).
Admission is generally free. Dance evening and King's dinner at club prices.

By car via the B215 to Stolzenau, then to Husum.
