Schützenfest Heidenau and Fleestedt
The Schützenfest Heidenau and Fleestedt is one of the fixed dates in the event calendar of the municipality of Seevetal. The organizer is the Schützenverein Fleestedt und Umgegend von 1898 e.V. (Fleestedt and Surrounding Area Marksmen's Association of 1898), which hosts the festival together with the marksmen families from Heidenau and Fleestedt.
Four Festival Days from June 12th to 15th, 2026
The festival lasts from Friday to Monday. This duration is rather the exception in the Harburg district and underscores the importance of the festival for the two marksmen communities. Each day focuses on a different aspect – from the Zapfenstreich on Friday and the King's Shoot on Saturday to the grand festival parade on Sunday and the family program on Monday.
Grand Tattoo and King's Shoot
The Großer Zapfenstreich (Grand Tattoo) on Friday evening brings together marksmen, marching bands, and the public for a ceremonial moment with a torchlight procession and traditional music. The Königsschießen (King's Shoot) determines the new monarchs of the association, who are proclaimed and celebrated in the following days.
Festival Parade and King's Ball
The festival parade on Sunday afternoon leads through Fleestedt with marksmen, marching bands, invited neighboring associations, and ladies' sections. Afterwards, the marksmen's family celebrates the Königsball (King's Ball) in the festival tent with a live band and dancing until late at night. The Family Day concludes the festival with carousels, a children's king's shoot, and games.
Schützenfest Heidenau / Fleestedt — edition 2026
The 2026 edition continues the more than 125-year tradition of the Fleestedt Marksmen's Association, bringing together marksmen families from Heidenau and Fleestedt for a joint festival. Showmen, carousels, and the large festival tent give the event its special Volksfest character and make it a regular meeting point for generations.
With four festival days, the event is one of the more comprehensive marksmen's festivals in the Harburg district and offers a program for the whole family.
