The Shooting Society of 1848 Hagenburg-Altenhagen looks back on over 175 years of history. Founded in the turbulent years of the bourgeois revolution, the club has asserted itself in local club life through all political changes of the time. By connecting the towns of Hagenburg and Altenhagen, the society fosters a supra-local community that shapes shooting traditions on the Steinhuder Meer.

Festival Grounds at Försterteich

The shooting festival takes place on the traditional festival grounds at the Försterteich – a particularly scenic location. The pond and the surrounding green areas provide a setting that clearly distinguishes it from other shooting festivals in Northern Germany. The festival tent has a warm atmosphere, while visitors outside enjoy the view of the water.

Highlight on Monday Morning

A special feature of the Hagenburg shooting festival is the performance of the Bundeswehr military music on Monday morning. This tradition attracts attention far beyond the region; many visitors travel specifically for this concert. The professional musicians lend the festival's conclusion on Monday morning an impressive musical flair.

Festival Schedule

As with most North German shooting festivals, the schedule follows a clear pattern. Friday evening marks the start, Saturday features the bird shooting and the ball, Sunday includes the grand parade, the king's dinner, and the family day, and Monday offers a more relaxed conclusion – with the Bundeswehr military music being the most prominent event. Friendly clubs from the Schaumburg region are guests and contribute to the parade with their participation.
