Fredenbeck Shooting Club

The Fredenbeck Shooting Club (Schützenverein Fredenbeck e.V.) has been the custodian of shooting traditions in the Fredenbeck municipality in the district of Stade for generations. The annual shooting festival is a fixture in the club's calendar and is considered an event that brings together people of all ages – from children participating in the children's shooting festival to veterans who have been associated with the club for decades.

Festival Friday with Junior Shooter Reception

The festival weekend kicks off on Friday with the junior shooter reception in the festival tent. The young members of the club are officially welcomed, along with the executive boards and honored guests. Afterwards, a DJ takes over and ensures a lively atmosphere late into the night.

Festival Saturday with Grand Parade and Children's Shooting Festival

Saturday is the busiest festival day. In the morning, the shooting competitions for the royal title begin, and at noon, the grand parade with the marching band, flag bearers, and fellow clubs marches through Fredenbeck. Simultaneously, the children's shooting festival takes place, where the youngest shooters compete and the children's king and queen are proclaimed. In the evening, the festive proclamation of the king and the dance night with a live band occur.

Sunday with Pea Soup and King's Collection

Sunday traditionally opens with pea soup – a classic of Northern German festival culture, served to hungry shooters and guests after the morning's gathering. In the afternoon, the king is collected from the residence of the new royal couple, who are then led to the festival grounds with the marching band, shooters, and fellow clubs. The festival winds down in the afternoon.
