Schützenfest Elsfleth — Tradition since 1864

The Elsflether Schützenverein von 1864 e.V. is one of the oldest and most traditional marksmen's associations in the Lower Saxony Wesermarsch region. With over 160 years of club history, the association is deeply rooted in the maritime town of Elsfleth and shapes social life with numerous events — the most famous being the annual summer marksmen's festival.

Schützenhaus An der Stadthalle

The venue for the festival is the club's own Schützenhaus at Stadthalle 3 in Elsfleth — a central location in the town, easily accessible for members and guests. The Schützenhaus, with its adjoining shooting range, forms the year-round club center and becomes the focal point for the festival community on the festival weekend.

Date 2026 according to the Wesermarsch Marksmen's Association

The date is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the Wesermarsch Marksmen's Association's calendar. The summer date offers ideal weather for the festive procession, outdoor program, and dance evening.

Classic Festival Schedule

The Schützenfest follows the classic tradition: muster of the marksmen at the Schützenhaus, welcome by the board, marksmen's march and festive procession through Elsfleth, King's shooting among eligible members, and the ceremonial proclamation of the new Marksmen's King.

King's Dinner and Dance Evening

Following the proclamation, the association invites guests to the King's Dinner. Speeches, honors for long-standing members, and the handover of the King's title mark the ceremonial act. The dance evening with a live band provides the evening's conclusion.

Meeting Point for Clubs and the Town

Friendly marksmen's associations from the Wesermarsch region, representatives of the town of Elsfleth, and active club members come together for the Schützenfest. Free admission to the festival events.
