Traditional Schützenfest on the last weekend of July with Junggesellschaft and Bürgercorps
The Schützenfest Edemissen is jointly organized by two independent clubs: the Junggesellschaft & Bürgercorps Edemissen and the KKS Falkenauge Edemissen e.V. of 1930. This cooperation combines the tradition of two different types of clubs and secures the festival tradition across generations. While the Junggesellschaft historically organized the younger generation, the KKS Falkenauge is a small-bore shooting club with its own competition tradition.
The festival grounds at Am Eckernkamp 21 are the venue for the annual Schützenfest. During the three days of the festival, a festival tent, shooting range, amusement park, and catering stands are set up here. The infrastructure allows for a wide program to be offered and to be carried out safely, even in changeable summer weather.
The festive opening is marked by the parade through the village of Edemissen, accompanied by music clubs and friendly shooting clubs from neighboring villages. The king's shooting on Saturday determines the new majesties. The festive crowning in the festival tent is the emotional highlight of the weekend and is accompanied by music, festive speeches, and honors.
The Schützenball on Saturday evening is the most important dance event of the weekend. A live band or DJ ensures a long festive night where the village community, club members, and guests dance exuberantly. Dance evenings on Friday and Sunday evenings complement the program and attract a younger audience from the entire Peine district.
Sunday morning is traditionally dedicated to the Frühschoppen with brass music. In the afternoon, the focus is on the children's afternoon, which features games, small competitions, and activities for the youngest festival visitors. This intergenerational program structure is characteristic of a village Schützenfest and secures its character as a Volksfest for all generations.
From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, the two clubs offer a packed program. The parade, king's shooting, crowning, Schützenball, and Frühschoppen follow the proven schedule of northern German Schützenfeste.
The new royal court will be determined during the king's shooting on Saturday. The festive proclamation and crowning in the festival tent is the emotional highlight of the weekend.
The detailed program will be published by the organizers in early summer 2026. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
Expected Friday, July 24 to Sunday, July 26, 2026 (last weekend of July, date estimated based on historical pattern, official confirmation by the club to follow).
Schützenplatz, Am Eckernkamp 21, 31234 Edemissen.
Access to the festival grounds is free. Schützenball may have an admission fee.
Edemissen is located in the Peine district, easily accessible via the L 320.
