Schützenfest Concordia Horstmar — Customs since 1848
The Concordia Horstmar 1848 e.V. association is one of the most traditional clubs in the small Münsterland town of Horstmar. Its Schützenfest is the annual highlight of the club calendar and one of the most important dates in the social life of the town — from July 4th to 6th, 2026, three days of parades, king's shooting, and music will transform the Schützenplatz (shooting grounds) and Horstmar's town center into a Münsterland customs backdrop.

King's Shooting and Parade
The king's shooting on Sunday morning is the sporting highlight — the winner is proclaimed the new Schützenkönig (Shooting King) of Concordia Horstmar and represents the club for one year. The parade on Monday winds through Horstmar's town center — with brass bands, the king and queen, their court, and all members in shooting uniforms.
Customs in the Münsterland
Horstmar is located in the west of the Steinfurt district in Münsterland — a small town with just under 7,000 inhabitants, characterized by agriculture, medium-sized businesses, and a strong club landscape. The shooting tradition is firmly anchored here — as everywhere in Münsterland: almost every village has its own brotherhood or association, and the annual Schützenfest is the highlight of the social calendar. Concordia Horstmar 1848 joins this tradition as one of the older associations.
