The rocon Firmenlauf Mainz has developed into the central company run address in Mainz in recent years. The format is accessible – a distance of 5 kilometers is achievable for most participants with some preparation – and professionally organized at the same time: starting blocks, timing, catering, after-run party.

The organizer is the Mainz event agency in cooperation with the namesake rocon. The course leads through the heart of Mainz city center. Start and finish are located so that the entire field of runners comes together on a common festival area after the race. The course is almost flat and equally suitable for beginners as well as for ambitious hobby runners aiming for a fast 5 km time.

The four starting blocks from 6:15 PM at fifteen-minute intervals spread out the field and avoid congestion on the course. This solution has proven itself since the first edition and is one of the hallmarks of the Mainz company run.

The social character defines the event. After the run, runners, colleagues, families, and friends meet on the festival grounds, where the after-run party with DJ KC provides the dance floor. Mainz breweries, food trucks, and gastronomic partners supply the field until late into the night.

An important social aspect: DKMS, the German Bone Marrow Donor File, is the charity partner of the Mainz company run. With every entry fee, a contribution flows into DKMS's work against blood cancer – and on the festival grounds, there is an opportunity for typing as a potential donor.
