Traditional Pentecost Schützenfest of the Bruchhausen-Vilsen marksmen's association at the shooting range "Im Wiehe"
In many North German communities, Pentecost is the classic date for the big Schützenfest. The Bruchhausen-Vilsen marksmen's association also upholds this tradition and celebrates its club festival annually on the Pentecost weekend. For three days, bird shooting, dance evenings, the King's dinner, and the parade are the focus at the festival tent at the shooting range "Im Wiehe".
The shooting range "Im Wiehe" on the outskirts of Bruchhausen-Vilsen is the club's home. Club shooting events take place here all year round, and the large festival tent is set up here at Pentecost. The facility offers ample space for the festival tent, shooting ranges, and parking.
The programme follows the classic cornerstones of a North German Schützenfest. On Pentecost Saturday, the assembly, bird shooting, and dance evening are the main events. Pentecost Sunday features a festival service, a morning pint, and the King's dinner. Pentecost Monday concludes the festival with a family day and a parade, after which the monarchs are proclaimed.
The Bruchhausen-Vilsen marksmen's association has been cultivating the marksmen's tradition in the municipality for many years and is active with voluntary commitment. Information at schuetzenverein-bruvi.de.
Schützenfeste at Pentecost have a long tradition in Northern Germany. Those who want to experience the marksmen's tradition and the festival culture of the Diepholz region will find a good occasion in Bruchhausen-Vilsen.
The exact programme for 2026 will be published by the Bruchhausen-Vilsen marksmen's association in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
